Abstract:
A light control member 10 is provided with a first light control unit 20, and a second light control unit 40 stacked on the first light control unit 20. The first light control unit 20 is able to adjust visible light transmittance by application of voltage. The second light control unit 40 is able to adjust a haze value by application of voltage. The first light control unit 20 comprises a first absorption type polarizing plate 21, a second absorption type polarizing plate 22, a first liquid crystal unit 30 disposed between the first absorption type polarizing plate 21 and the second absorption type polarizing plate 22, and a reflection type polarizing plate 23 disposed between the first absorption type polarizing plate 21 and the first liquid crystal unit 30. The first liquid crystal unit 30 is switchable between a state of transmitting light while maintaining a polarization direction and a state of changing the polarization direction and transmitting light, by application of voltage.
