Abstract:
In order to provide a light diffraction element unit in which the shape of the main surface of a substrate can easily be maintained as a flat surface even when the light diffraction element unit is standalone, this light diffraction element unit (U) comprises: a layered substrate (11); a light diffraction structure (12) that is formed on a part (central portion 113) of the main surface (111) of the substrate (11); and a holding part (20) that is provided with an aperture (23) and that holds an annular portion (114) which surrounds a part (central portion 113) of the substrate (11) so that the light diffraction structure (12) is contained within the aperture (23).
