Abstract:
A light-emitting element (2) comprises: an ion layer (4) that is solid and includes negative ions (12N) and positive ions (12P); a layer (6) that includes quantum dots (14R, 14G, 14B); and negative electrodes (10) and positive electrodes (8). The ion layer includes positive electrode-side p-type doped regions (4P) that include more negative ions than positive ions, negative electrode-side n-type doped regions (4N) that include more positive ions than negative ions, and junction regions (4I) between the p-type doped regions and the n-type doped regions. The layer than includes quantum dots abuts the junction regions. Alternatively, the quantum dots are included in the junction regions. Alternatively, the quantum dots abut the junction regions.
