Abstract:
Provided is a light-receiving element that can realize a high dynamic range without depending on the distance to a target object or the reflectance of the target object. The light-receiving element is provided with a first pixel and a second pixel, the first pixel and the second pixel being respectively provided with photoelectric conversion units, first and second electric charge storage units for storing electric charge generated by the photoelectric conversion units, first and second transfer transistors for transferring electric charge from the photoelectric conversion units to the first and second electric charge storage units, and reset transistors for resetting the first and second electric charge storage units, wherein: a first reset control wire is connected to the gate of the reset transistor of the first pixel; a second reset control wire is connected to the gate of the reset transistor of the second pixel, and storage time periods for electric charge of the first and second pixels are made different from each other.
