Abstract:
A quantum entanglement photon pair source (4A) is provided with a Sagnac interferometer (40). The Sagnac interferometer (40) includes a beam splitter (401) and a QPM element (406). The beam splitter (401) divides pumping light supplied from the outside of the Sagnac interferometer (40) into first pumping light and second pumping light. The QPM element (406) in which a ridge-type waveguide (WG) is disposed generates a first quantum entanglement photon pair set in a frequency entanglement state from the first pumping light, and generates a second quantum entanglement photon pair set in a frequency entanglement state from the second pumping light. The beam splitter (401) generates quantum interference through integration of the first quantum entanglement photon pair and the second quantum entanglement photon pair, and emits a signal photon and an idler photon in different directions.
