Abstract:
The present invention provides a lighting device with which it is possible to suppress a waste of electric power. This lighting device includes a light source, a light-guiding portion which includes a light-guiding plate and which guides light emitted from the light source, a power source which supplies driving electric power to the light source, and a photovoltaic electricity generating unit which receives light and generates electricity, wherein: the light-guiding plate includes a light entry end surface which faces the light source and into which the light emitted from the light source enters, a first light emitting portion which is included in the end portion on the opposite side to the light entry end surface, and which emits light that has been guided through the light-guiding plate, and a second light emitting portion which is included in a prescribed main surface, intersecting the light entry end surface, of the light-guiding plate, and which emits light that has been guided through the light-guiding plate; and the photovoltaic electricity generating unit is provided facing at least a portion of the first light emitting portion, and supplies generated electric power to the power source.
