Abstract:
The present invention implements a liquid crystal display device capable of suppressing occurrence of irregular color tinged with blue at a position immediately above a lighted blue LED even when a space between an LED substrate and a diffusion plate is narrowed in order to reduce the thickness of a direct type backlight. This liquid crystal display device diffuses blue light emitted from a blue light source by providing a diffusion plate obtained by forming an ink body on a transparent substrate between an LED substrate and a dichroic film of a direct type backlight. Consequently, the intensity of blue light incident on the vicinity of an area immediately above the blue light source is reduced, thereby making it possible to reduce irregular blue color appearing immediately above each blue light source to a visually non-problematic level even when a space between a light source-equipped substrate and the diffusion plate is narrowed.
