Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a liquid-crystal display element in which flickering is reduced or inhibited and which operates with a low power consumption, due to the liquid-crystal layer. [Solution] A liquid-crystal display element characterized by comprising a first transparent substrate, a second transparent substrate, which has been disposed so as to face the first transparent substrate, a liquid-crystal layer comprising a liquid-crystal composition and interposed between the first transparent substrate and the second transparent substrate, pixel electrodes disposed on the first transparent substrate, and a display processing unit for controlling the frame frequency of image signals to be sent to the pixel electrodes to a value which is 59 Hz or less but exceeds 0 Hz, the liquid-crystal composition containing a specific liquid-crystal compound.
