A liquid discharge apparatus comprising: a main body; a rotation table provided with a plurality of container receiving units each for receiving a container provided with a liquid discharge nozzle, the rotation table rotating the container receiving units relative to the main body; a liquid discharge unit for causing a liquid stored by the containers to be discharged; a first detection unit (151) provided to the main body; a second detection unit (152); a third detection unit (153); and a processing unit (1553), the container receiving units being arranged at equal intervals in the circumferential direction of the rotation table, the rotation table being provided with a plurality of position sensing members arranged at equal intervals between adjacent container receiving units, the first detection unit and the second detection unit being capable of detecting the position sensing members and the discharge nozzle, the third detection unit not detecting the position sensing members and being capable of detecting the discharge nozzle, and the processing unit detecting the rotation position of the rotation table from the detection results of the first detection unit, the second detection unit, and the third detection unit.
