Abstract:
A lithium recovery method that, when performing a sintering step, a crushing step, and a sieving step on lithium ion battery scrap, in said order, includes between the sintering step and the crushing step, between the crushing step and the sieving step, or after the sieving step: a lithium dissolving step that brings the lithium ion battery scrap in contact with water, dissolves the lithium contained in the lithium ion battery scrap in the water, and obtains a lithium solution; a lithium concentration step in which the lithium ions included in the lithium solution are solvent-extracted and back-extracted, the lithium ions are concentrated, and a lithium concentrate obtained; and a carbonation step in which the lithium ions in the lithium concentrate are carbonated and a lithium carbonate is obtained.
