Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for controlling a load power factor in accordance with a command by adjusting the output frequency with respect to a change in the load inductance of an induction heating furnace coil. [Solution] A method characterized in that when a power factor angle Δϕ is retarded with respect to a power factor angle command value Δϕ*, an output frequency fr of a matrix converter is reduced, thereby causing the power factor angle Δϕ to follow the power factor angle command value Δϕ*, and when the power factor angle Δϕ is advanced with respect to the power factor angle command value Δϕ*, the output frequency fr of the matrix converter is increased, thereby causing the power factor angle Δϕ to follow the power factor angle command value Δϕ*.
