Abstract:
A local backlight dimming method and device based on a neural network, relating to the field of image processing, and solving the problem of how to improve a dynamic range of an image. The method comprises: after receiving a first image, inputting the first image into a first neural network and a second neural network for respective calculations, so as to obtain a backlight image and a liquid crystal pixel compensated image of the first image; and then controlling, according to the backlight image, a backlight module (203) to provide light to a liquid crystal panel (204), i.e., controlling, according to the backlight image, the backlight module (203) to provide a light source matching the backlight image to the liquid crystal panel (204), and controlling the liquid crystal panel (204) according to the liquid crystal pixel compensated image to enable the liquid crystal panel (204) to display a second image under the joint action of the backlight image and the liquid crystal pixel compensated image, wherein the dynamic range of the second image is higher than that of the first image.
