Title:
LOW-CTE, LOW-PUFFING NEEDLE COKE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2021/054122
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to more stably obtain low-CTE, low-puffing needle coke while responding to changes in the properties of the crude oil feedstock. This low-CTE, low-puffing needle coke is characterized by mixing and coking secondary crude oil feedstock that has strong hydrogen donor properties and a 5.0 or higher PDQI value, indicated in fig. (1), with needle coke main crude oil feedstock of coal tar heavy oil or petroleum-based heavy oil that has weak hydrogen donor properties and a less-than-5.0 PDQI value, indicated in fig. (1), and calcining the thusly obtained raw coke. [Formula (1)] PDQI = H% × 10 × (HNβ/H) Here, H% is the amount of hydrogen (wt%) obtained by elemental analysis, and HNβ/H is the ratio of β-naphthenic hydrogen and total hydrogen measured by 1H-NMR).
