Abstract:
Provided is a lube base oil that is capable of easily giving a lubricating oil composition which has such a high relative permittivity that the composition can function as a component of a capacitor and which has insulating properties and is highly inhibited from swelling rubber materials. The lube base oil comprises a base oil (A1) having a relative permittivity at 1 MHz, εr(A1), of less than 3.0 and a base oil (A2) having a relative permittivity at 1 MHz, εr(A2), of 3.0 or higher. Also provided is a lubricating oil composition including the lube base oil.
