Abstract:
The present invention provides a lubricant composition which contains (A) a base oil, (B) a molybdenum-based friction regulator, (C) a metal-based detergent and (D) a dispersant. The dispersant (D) contains (D1) a non-boron-modified polyisobutenyl succinic acid bisimide; with respect to the IR spectrum of this non-boron-modified polyisobutenyl succinic acid bisimide (D1) as determined by the FT-IR method, the ratio of the peak intensity Abs(1705 cm-1) at 1705 cm-1 to the peak intensity Abs(1390-1) at 1390 cm-1, namely (Abs(1705 cm-1)/Abs(1390-1)) is 7.5 or less; the content of the non-boron-modified polyisobutenyl succinic acid bisimide (D1) is not less than 50% by mass based on the total amount of the dispersant (D); the kinematic viscosity at 100°C is 9.3 mm2/s or less; and this lubricant composition has excellent friction coefficient decrease effect even though a molybdenum-based friction regulator and a succinimide compound are contained therein.
