Abstract:
A lubricant for compression refrigerating machines employing ammonia as a refrigerant, which contains a polyether compound and either an aromatic amine compound or a phenothiazine compound and preferably further contains an alcohol compound, such as a partially etherified polyhydric alcohol, and/or a benzotriazole compound. Also provided are a hydraulic fluid composition comprising the lubricant and an ammonia refrigerant and a refrigerator filled with the hydraulic fluid composition. The lubricant not only has good compatibility with ammonia but is excellent in stability and lubricity. It is hence suitable for use in compression refrigerating machines employing an ammonia refrigerant, which has no fear of causing ozonosphere depletion or global warming.
