Abstract:
According to the present invention, Ca is added to molten steel within a ladle at a high addition yield by changing the composition of a Ca-containing alloy to be added to the molten steel. A method for adding Ca to molten steel according to the present invention, in order to add calcium (Ca) to molten steel within a ladle, a calcium-containing alloy (Ca-containing alloy) containing magnesium (Mg) is added thereto, said Ca-containing alloy containing Ca, while satisfying formula (1). It is preferable that the Ca-containing alloy is added to molten steel within a ladle, after subjecting the molten steel to refining by an RH vacuum degassing apparatus. (1): 0.3 ≤ (Mg content (mass%))/(Ca content (mass%)) ≤ 1.0
