Abstract:
Provided is a method for producing a 1-1'-bi-2-naphthol compound of good color. A method for producing a 1-1'-bi-2-naphthol compound, according to an embodiment of the present invention, includes a step of obtaining a 1-1'-bi-2-naphthol compound by reacting β-naphthol dissolved in a solvent in a solution of β-naphthol, the reaction being conducted under conditions such that the 1-1'-bi-2-naphthol compound produced by the reaction precipitates from the solution.
