Abstract:
According to the present invention, a magnetic material having a higher Curie temperature can be achieved. This magnetic material is made of Sr3-xAxOs1-yByO6 (-0.5≤x≤0.5, -0.5≤y≤0.5, A is an alkali metal or an alkali earth metal, and B is a transition metal atom, an alkali metal atom or an alkali earth metal atom) and is composed of an insulator of a double perovskite structure having ferromagnetism or ferrimagnetism. The insulator may be Sr3OsO6, in which x=y=0 is in the formula. Sr3OsO6 has a cubic crystal structure in which a strontium atom 101, an osmium atom 102, and an oxygen atom 103 are arranged on lattice points.
