Abstract:
Provided are: a magnetic refrigerant material which can be installed in an AMR-cycle-type magnetic refrigerator capable of being operated at a low temperature range of 10 to 80K and has high performance and high reliability; an AMR bed using the magnetic refrigerant material; and a magnetic refrigeration device employing the AMR bed. In examples of the present invention, the magnetic refrigerant material has an AlB2-type crystal structure, has a main phase comprising crystals each represented by a compositional formula: RB2 (wherein B represents boron; and R represents at least one rare earth element) or a solid solution of the crystals and subphases (comprising an R phase and/or an RB4 phase) dispersed finely in the main phase.
