This entry/exit management device restricts unauthorised entry into a security area in a state in which multiple persons are close. An information reading device built into a security gate reads identification information retained by an information recording medium carried by a passing person, and an information management control device manages the entry/exit of the passing person on the basis of the identification information and controls the opening/closure of a door of the gate. In the information management control device, detection sensors of a passing person speed calculation unit each calculate the passing speed of the passing person when the passing person passes through the gate, the sensors being installed with the door interposed. On the basis of detection results from the sensors and the passing speed, a passing person width calculation unit calculates a passing person width, which is a dimension in the direction in which the passing person passes, for each of the detection sensors. A passing person determination unit determines the presence/absence of unauthorised entry into the security area on the basis of the passing person width calculated for each of the sensors.
