Abstract:
A sample collection section (1) collects local samples located at a plurality of measurement points on a sample of interest by an LMD method, and a pretreatment section (2) prepares liquid samples respectively from the local samples. The liquid samples corresponding to the plurality of measurement points are treated in parallel using multiple LC sections (3a to 3n) to separate a component contained in each of the liquid samples, and sample pool sections (34a to 34n) pool eluates respectively eluted from columns in another containers separately at every regular time intervals. A sample switching section 4 selects the eluate samples pooled in the multiple sample pool sections (34a to 34n) in turn and introduces the eluate samples to an MS section (5), and the MS section (5) performs mass spectrometry of each of the eluate samples in a time-division manner. A data processing section (7) produces and displays an image showing the distribution of strength of an ion corresponding to a designated component on the basis of mass spectrometric date obtained as mentioned above for each of the eluate samples respectively derived from the liquid samples. High sensitivity and high quantitative performance can be achieved because the measurement is performed by employing LC-MS, and the measurement time can be shortened because different samples are treated in parallel in multiple columns.
