Abstract:
In order to achieve reduction in size, this mass spectroscope is characterized by comprising: an ion source (200) for continuously generating ions (23); a pre-trap chamber (130) capable of trapping the ions (23); an ion trap chamber (140) provided after the pre-trap chamber (130) and capable of having the ions (23) introduced thereinto from the pre-trap chamber (130) and capable of trapping the ions (23); a third small hole (141) provided in a third isolating wall (147) partitioning the pre-trap chamber (130) and the ion trap chamber (140); and a slider valve (101) capable of opening and closing the third small hole (141), the pre-trap chamber (130) having an inner pressure adjusted to be higher than an internal pressure of the ion trap chamber (140), wherein the opening and closing of the third small hole (141) is performed intermittently by the slider valve (101).
