Abstract:
A meandering amount detection method for a metal strip according to the present invention detects the amount of meandering of metal strips that are traveling at a plurality of levels with intervals therebetween, and includes: a first step for calculating the width-direction end position of the metal strip at each level, by using the angle formed by a reference direction, which is an optionally set direction from a reference point, and the direction connecting the reference point and the width-direction end position of the metal strip at each level, the distance between the reference point and the width-direction end position of the metal strip at each level, and the distance between the reference point and a straight line that includes the width direction of the metal strip; and a second step for calculating the amount of meandering of the metal strip at each level on the basis of the width-direction end position calculated in the first step.
