Abstract:
A measurement device according to one embodiment of this disclosure comprises a light source for emitting laser light having a plurality of oscillation frequencies separated by equal frequency intervals toward a scattering substance in the air, an interferometer for causing scattered light produced by the scattering of the laser light by the scattering substance to interfere with itself, a receiver for receiving the Mie scattered light included in the scattered light that has been caused to interfere with itself, and a signal processing unit for detecting the amount of Mie scattered light from a signal from the receiver. The frequency interval is less than the full width at half maximum of the peak of the frequency spectrum of the Rayleigh scattering produced by the molecules of the air.
