Abstract:
In a mechanism for reducing variability in a stopping position of a hand, in order to prevent damage even if a torque acts in the opposite direction to a hand moving direction a mechanism (10) for reducing variability in a stopping position of a second hand (96) is provided with: a return gear (11) which is driven in conjunction with a wheel train mechanism (80), which is a timepiece display mechanism; a slip torque spring (12) (friction member) which is in contact with the return gear (11) to apply a frictional force to the drive of the return gear (11); and a return spring (13) (return spring member) which applies to the slip torque spring (12) a torque in the direction (the direction of the dashed arrow -R) opposite to the normal hand moving direction (the direction of the arrow R) of the return gear (11).
