Title:
METAL-COMPLEX DYE, PHOTOELECTRIC CONVERSION ELEMENT, DYE-SENSITIZED SOLAR CELL, AND DYE SOLUTION CONTAINING METAL-COMPLEX DYE
Document Type and Number:
WIPO Patent Application WO/2014/157005
Kind Code:
A1
Abstract:
A photoelectric conversion element that has an electrolyte-containing photoreceptor layer. Said photoreceptor layer contains semiconductor microparticles supported on a metal-complex dye that can be represented by formula (I). Said metal-complex dye contains at least a carboxy group and a salt of a carboxy group, said salt being a potassium salt, a lithium salt, or a cesium salt. The ratio (α) between the number of carboxy-group salts per mole of the metal-complex dye and the total number of carboxy groups and carboxy-group salts per mole of the metal-complex dye is between 0.1 and 0.9, inclusive. In formula (I), M1 represents a ruthenium or osmium atom; Z1 represents a monodentate ligand; rings Za, Zb, and Zc each represent a group of nonmetallic atoms needed to form a nitrogen-containing five- or six-membered ring; and at least two of the rings represented by Za, Zb, and Zc have either a carboxy group or a potassium, lithium, or cesium salt of a carboxy group.
