Abstract:
A methacrylic resin composition containing 100 parts by mass of a methacrylic resin in which the amount of terminal double bonds is less than 0.012 mol% and the amount of bound sulfur atoms is preferably less than 0.25 mol%, 5 x 10-6 to 9 x 10-3 parts by mass of a metal element having an atomic number of 20 or less (preferably elemental lithium and elemental aluminum), and 0.025-0.50 parts by mass of a hindered phenolic antioxidant such as 2,6-bis(1,1-dimethylethyl)-4-methylphenol, the thermal weight retention rate when exposed for 15 minutes to 290°C in a nitrogen gas atmosphere being 98% by mass or higher.
