Abstract:
The purpose of the present invention is to reduce the amount of energy supplied to a system that produces methane by separating and recovering CO2 from an exhaust gas by means of a solid-state CO2-adsorbing material and by reacting the recovered CO2 with H2. Provided is a methane producing system that generates methane from carbon dioxide recovered from an exhaust gas and hydrogen, the system comprising: an adsorbing step for separating carbon dioxide by supplying the exhaust gas to an adsorption tower loaded with a solid-state CO2-adsorbing material; a purging step for discharging, by means of gas exchange, the exhaust gas remaining in a gap in the adsorption tower; a desorbing step for desorbing the carbon dioxide from the solid-state CO2-adsorbing material by heating the adsorption tower; a cooling step for cooling the adsorbing material after the desorbing step; a gas-storing step for storing the gas containing the carbon dioxide discharged in the desorbing step and hydrogen; and a methanation step for generating methane by reacting the carbon dioxide and the hydrogen on a catalyst, wherein the carbon dioxide and the hydrogen stored in the gas-storing step are supplied in the purging step and the methanation step.
