Abstract:
Disclosed are a method and apparatus for encoding the motion information of a motion-predicted current prediction unit, and a method and apparatus for decoding the motion information. The method for encoding images according to one embodiment of the present invention involves acquiring a first reference picture list, a second reference picture list, and a combined reference picture list in which the reference picture included in the first reference picture list and the reference picture included in the second reference picture list are combined, and encoding one reference syntax indicating a motion prediction mode used in encoding the current prediction unit and a reference picture, on the basis of the number of cases of a unidirectional motion prediction mode and the number of cases of a bidirectional motion prediction mode.
