Abstract:
In producing a film by extruding a molten thermoplastic resin from a die onto the surface of a cooling roller, a heater capable of setting temperature profiles having different temperatures in a direction of width in the proximity of a die lip in the direction of its width, and the output of the heater is controlled on the basis of signals from a temperature sensor for detecting the temperature profiles of the resin near the outlet of the die lip and from a thickness sensor capable of detecting the thickness profile of the film in the direction of width so as to automatically adjust the thickness of the film in the direction of its width. In this manner, a uniform film having a reduced thickness variation can be produced stably with a high thickness variation adjusting accuracy.
