A method for recognizing a transformer substation foreign matter. The method comprises the following steps: collecting a scene image of a transformer substation (110); and recognizing a foreign matter in the scene image according to a pre-built target detection model for a transformer substation foreign matter in order to obtain the position of the foreign matter in the scene image and the type of the foreign matter, wherein the target detection model for the transformer substation foreign matter is obtained by means of performing training according to a preset type of foreign matter in the transformer substation and a plurality of transformer substation foreign matter images (120).
