Abstract:
In order to enhance the degree of freedom in designing a device in which a tension spring is incorporated, there are provided: a method for designing a tension spring in which designing of a tension spring is facilitated, resulting in reductions in the weight and size of the tension spring; and a tension spring. A method for designing a tension spring, the method having a parameter setting design step in which: the short-side length of a cover member 46 in a folded state is set to a first prescribed value; the long-side length of the cover member 46 in the folded state is set to a second prescribed value; and in a tension spring having the first and second prescribed values, an acute angle θ1 formed by a first wire A and a virtual line X extending parallel to the short side of the cover member 46 in the folded state is established at a first angle such that a desired output is obtained from the tension spring with respect to a prescribed amount of displacement of the cover member 46 due to the two ends of a gas-sealing part being pulled away from one another.
