Abstract:
The invention relates to a method for computer-assisted design of a vaccine against a disease which, on the basis of a plurality of amino acid chains S1...Sk obtained from patients infected with said disease and a set Τ of target epitopes, each epitope being an amino acid chain, includes the steps of: i) obtaining, by means of a combinatorial optimisation method, a plurality of amino acid chains having the shortest possible length relative to the combinatorial optimisation method used, which have as subchains at least one integer λ of epitopes from the set Τ in each of the sequences Si, wherein the value of λ is such that the length of the resulting chain is long enough to develop an immune response but not long enough to develop an autoimmune response; ii) selecting, among the plurality of chains obtained in the preceding step, at least one final candidate for immunogen via at least one standard experimental method; and iii) developing the vaccine from said immunogen.
