Abstract:
According to the present invention, in a bar conveyor (10) in which both ends of numerous bars (20) are held by two endless chains (15) that circulate while suspended on respective pairs of sprockets, two or more sensors (31a, 31b) for sensing the presence of objects are installed at two or more locations such that the timings at which the presence of the bars is sensed after having not been sensed are normally simultaneous, and it is assessed that an abnormality is occurring when one of the two or more sensors senses the presence of the bars but the remaining sensor does not sense the presence of the bars.
