Abstract:
Provided are a method for determining the connection of optical network terminals (ONTs), an apparatus and a system. For a first uplink optical signal sent by a first ONT, a device receives strength information of an echo optical signal generated in an optical fiber network by the first uplink optical signal, which is sent by a second ONT, the second ONT being all the ONTs in a passive optical network (PON) system or another ONT besides the first ONT in the PON system; and according to the strength information of the echo optical signal that is sent by the second ONT, the device determines a third ONT that is connected to the same optical splitter as the first ONT. By means of the described method, the optical splitter connected to each ONT can be determined so as to thereby quickly and accurately determine a point of failure according to the connection relationship determined by the described method, thus quickly eliminating the point of failure.
