Abstract:
One or more embodiments of the present invention provides a novel means for determining a single base mutation of erm (41) gene of acid-fast bacillus belonging to Mycobacteroides abscessus complex. One or more embodiments relate to a method for determining a base corresponding to position 28 of erm (41) gene of acid-fast bacillus belonging to Mycobacteroides abscessus complex, the method including detection of an index base sequence in the genome DNA of acid-fast bacillus which is a subject for determination, where the index base sequence is present in a region of the genome DNA other than the erm (41) gene when the base of the erm (41) gene is cytosine, and is not present when the base is thymine, thereby establishing that the presence of the index base sequence indicates that the base is cytosine, and the absence of the index base sequence indicates that the base is thymine.
