Abstract:

Provided are a method and device for manufacturing rubber coated twisted wire cord that can stably coat the outer peripheral surface of twisted wire cord with non-vulcanized rubber while preventing unravelling of the twisted wire cord. When non-vulcanized rubber (13) extruded by a rubber extruder (2) is coated on the outer peripheral surface of a twisted wire cord (12), which is moving from an extending unit (5) to an uptake unit (9), by a coating unit (4) disposed between the extending unit (5) and an uptake unit (10), the moving twisted cord (12) is put in a state where additional tension is applied by a tensioning unit (8) disposed in a position in the vicinity of the coating unit (4) and on the upstream side in the direction of travel of the twisted cord (12), and then the non-vulcanized rubber (13) is coated on the outer peripheral surface of the twisted wire (12) in this state to continuously manufacture a rubber coated twisted wire cord (11).
