Abstract:
This method for producing a glass sheet includes: a forming step of continuously forming a glass ribbon G2; a first cutting step of cutting the glass ribbon G2 in a width direction and cutting out a glass original sheet G3 from the glass ribbon G2; a conveying step of conveying the glass original sheet G3 in a vertical orientation with a conveying device 4; and a second cutting step of cutting, in a vertical direction, a boundary between a product portion G3a of the glass original sheet G3 and a non-product portion G3b that includes a side edge of the glass original sheet G3 on a conveyance path D of the conveying device 4 during the conveying step, and removing the non-product portion G3b from the glass original sheet G3. The conveying device 4 includes a support portion 41, and a regulating portion 42 that has a regulating gap C1 which is greater than the thickness of a side edge G3w of the glass original sheet G3, and supports an upper edge G3u of the glass original sheet G3 with the support portion 41 in a state where the side edge G3w of the glass original sheet G3 is regulated in the regulating gap C1.
