Abstract:
A method of electroslag welding includes the feeding to the welding zone (1) of a main consumable electrode (4), consisting of at least one wire, and of an additional consumable electrode (5), consisting of at least one wire (6, 7, 8) and being at the same voltage as that of the main consumable electrode (4). The regulation of the welding current and of the shape and dimensions of the weld seam is effected by variation of the total cross-section of the additional consumable electrode (5). Then the welding over of the crater at the end of the weld seam (13) is effected while consecutively switching out the wires of the main and additional consumable electrodes (4, 5).
