Provided are a method for fixing a book file cover using a vacuum, and a locking device, the locking device comprising a cover placement plate (7) and suckers (6) mounted on a working surface of the cover placement plate (7); the suckers have a vacuum generator (3) connected thereto by means of air pipes (4); the cover placement plate is provided with a plurality of sucker mounting stations used for mounting the suckers; a connection between the suckers and the cover placement plate is a detachable connection; either some of the sucker mounting stations are provided with the suckers, or all of the sucker mounting stations are provided with the suckers. The method uses arranging the suckers on the cover placement plate to serve as adsorbing elements so as to complete adsorption of the cover; and the quantity and positions of the suckers on the cover placement plate are adjustable. Since both the quantity and the positions of the suckers are adjustable, the adsorbing solution formed by the method may fulfill different adsorbing requirements; meanwhile, adsorbing efficiency is high, operation is convenient, and damage to the cover during a fixing process thereof may be prevented.
