A method for forming a dashboard assembly comprises: arranging a thin film (2) formed by a polypropylene composition to be relatively fixed on the local surface, which at least partially covers an airbag door region, of a moving half of a mould; closing the mould, injecting a polypropylene thermoplastic material in the mould of a dashboard body (1), and merging the polypropylene composition and the polypropylene thermoplastic material in a contact region; opening the mould, embedding the thin film (2) on the back surface of the dashboard body (1) and forming an integral dashboard with the dashboard body (1); meanwhile, forming flush airbag door weakened lines (3) on the dashboard body (1) and the thin film (2); providing an airbag door (4) formed by a polyolefin thermoplastic material; and welding the airbag door (4) to the dashboard body (1) and at least one part of the thin film (2), and merging the polypropylene composition and the polyolefin thermoplastic material in the contact region. The present invention also relates to the dashboard assembly.
