A method for the highly-efficient cultivation of a standard wasp colony, and a nest-building apparatus therefor. The method comprises the four key steps of: raising a queen wasp; inducing a queen wasp to build a nest, lay eggs, and raise larvae; inducing worker wasps to work; and transplanting a standard wasp colony. The nest-building apparatus comprises a nest-building room (1) and a feeding room (2), wherein the nest-building room (1) and the feeding room (2) are intercommunicated and used in cooperation with each other, an ingress/egress opening is provided between the two rooms, a wasp-nest hang rod (4) is arranged on the upper portion of the nest-building room (1), a feed port (10) is provided in the feeding room (2), a feeder tube (9) is arranged inside the feed port, and an area is provided for fir tree bark and other nest-building materials (8). In the present apparatus, the nest-building area and the feeding area are separated, but the two are intercommunicated by means of an ingress/egress opening. In this way, not only is the requirement for a quiet and dark nest-building environment met, but the requirement for convenient retrieval of food and nest-building materials is also met. Thus, the invention is conducive to the rapid cultivation of a standard wasp colony.
