Abstract:
Provided is a method for improving the amount of water absorption of water-absorbing resin particles (10a) under a load, the water-absorbing resin particles (10a) being obtained by implementing cross-linking along cross-linked polymer particles, wherein the method is provided with a pulverization step for pulverizing a cross-linked polymer that has structural units derived from an ethylenic unsaturated monomer to obtain cross-linked polymer particles that satisfy (a) to (c). (a) The proportion of particles having a particle diameter of less than 500 μm in the cross-linked polymer particles is 50 mass% or greater. (b) The proportion of particles having a particle diameter of less than 106 μm in the cross-linked polymer particles is 20 mass% or less. (c) The proportion of particles having a particle diameter of at least 106 μm but less than 250 μm in the cross-linked polymer particles is 40 mass% or less.
