Abstract:
The present invention is a method for manufacturing an absorbent body (1) for an absorbent article, and includes a cutting step for passing a semi-finished absorbent body (1w) between a surface (19as) of an anvil (19a) and the circumferential surface (19cs) of a rotating cutter roller (19c) having a blade (19cb) protruding from the circumferential surface so that a cut is made in a first face (FF) of the semi-finished absorbent body while the semi-finished absorbent body is compressed. In the cutting step, the cut is made in the first face of the semi-finished absorbent body by pushing the blade of the cutter roller into the semi-finished absorbent body from the first face so that the first face of the semi-finished absorbent body reaches the base end (19cbb) of the blade of the cutter roller while the semi-finished absorbent body is compressed in the thickness direction thereof in a manner that allows a thickness Ta of the semi-finished absorbent body after release of the compression to return to no larger than a thickness Tb thereof before the compression.
