Abstract:
When processing the shape of the end face of a disk-shaped glass plate using a laser beam, the disk-shaped glass plate is caused to float above the base in order to suppress distortion (retardation value) in the main surface of the glass plate, the end face of the glass plate is irradiated with the laser beam while heating the floating glass plate in a non-contact manner, and the end face is processed into a target shape while moving the laser beam relative to the end face in the circumferential direction of the disk-shaped glass plate.
