Abstract:
The present invention enables production of a high-density strand board without using special equipment, by molding under a pressure approximately the same as that applied to produce a normal-density strand board. A pretreatment step P2 including a first treatment step P2a and a second treatment step P2b subsequent to the first treatment step P2a, is performed on a strand 5 that has not been press-molded. In the first treatment step P2a, at least one among beating treatment, high-frequency treatment, high-temperature/high-pressure treatment, high-water-pressure treatment, repeated degasifying/dehydrating treatment, and chemical treatment is performed. In the second treatment step P2b, roll-pressing treatment or flat-plate pressing treatment is performed. A strand board B of 750-950 kg/m3 is molded under a pressure of at most 4 N/mm2.
