Abstract:
[Problem] To provide a method for manufacturing an opened fiber bundle which makes it possible to achieve an opened fiber bundle that has a favorable opened fiber state, excels in resin impregnation properties, and exhibits excellent compatibility with a matrix resin. [Solution] A method for manufacturing an opened carbon fiber bundle, the method including a step for causing a carbon fiber bundle, which comprise a plurality of carbon fibers to which a sizing agent has been adhered, to contact a fiber-opening solution containing an organic solvent and particles having an average particle diameter (d50) of 1-30 μm.
