Abstract:
Provided are a method of manufacturing a plate-like member and an intermediary body of the plate-like member with which it is possible to prevent a defect in the shape of the plate-like member, and a plate-like member in which a shape defect is prevented. The method comprises: a step for forming an intermediary body 11 of a wavelength conversion member (plate-like member) by providing, in a plate-like member base material having a first main surface and a second main surface opposing each other, a first split groove 12a in the first main surface and then providing a second split groove 13a in the second main surface in a direction crossing the first split groove 12a in plan view; and a step for cleaving the intermediary body 11 of the wavelength conversion member along one of the first split groove 12a and the second split groove 13a, and then cleaving the intermediary body 11 of the wavelength conversion member along the other split groove. The method is characterized in that, wherein when the intermediary body 11 of the wavelength conversion member is cleaved along the first split groove 12a, the intermediary body 11 of the wavelength conversion member is cleaved along the first split groove 12a by applying pressure from the second main surface 11b side, and when the intermediary body 11 of the wavelength conversion member is cleaved along the second split groove 13a, the intermediary body of the wavelength conversion member is cleaved along the second split groove 13a by applying pressure from the first main surface 11a side.
