Abstract:

A method for manufacturing the sliding component of a compressor capable of manufacturing the sliding component at a lower cost than with a method for manufacturing the sliding component of a compressor by “producing the sliding component basic body of a compressor by thixocasting and performing ultrahigh precision finish work on that sliding component basic body thus obtaining a final sliding component”. The method for manufacturing the sliding component of a compressor comprises a sliding component basic body production step, a resin coating step, and a machining step. In the sliding component basic body production step, an iron sliding component basic body (25) having a tensile strength and a modulus of elongation, at least one of which being higher than that of flake graphite cast iron, is produced using a specific die. In the resin coating step, a resin coated layer (25a) is provided partially or entirely on the sliding component basic body without machining the sliding component basic body. In the machining step, only the resin coated layer is machined thus obtaining completed sliding components (17, 23, 24, 26, 39, 60).
